Serving the children of the world ®

Kiwanis Defining Statement

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. We develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds and raise funds for pediatric research. Our members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged and care for the sick. Working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. And along the way, club members share friendship and laughter.

Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers

We are a community service organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. We do this by developing fellowship, networking, education, leadership and community service opportunities for our volunteer members to better our community through all kinds of hands-on projects, with special emphasis on child development and safety and youth leadership training through service, and by supporting other community organizations.

The Fort Myers Kiwanis Club was the first service club in southwest Florida, established on April 28th, 1922. Our first and foremost focus is helping Young Children in the Fort Myers area. Our club has many rich traditions and much to offer prospective members who want to get involved in helping children in our community. Our club meetings provide excellent networking opportunities, social interaction and fellowship. We have great programs and speakers to compliment our fine lunch. If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved and help young children, please come to a meeting or contact us.

You are welcome to attend any of our meetings to learn more about us.

We meet at the historic Kiwanis Hall at 1634 Woodford Avenue in downtown Fort Myers every Wednesday at 12 Noon.

The Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science and Inventors Fair has been a tradition at Fort Myers Kiwanis for almost 60 years. The club volunteers their time and energies, providing judges and volunteers at the annual event and mans a stand selling items and raffle tickets as a fund raiser. We donate ove $15,000 to help pay the travel expenses for winners who go on to compete at state, national and international levels.

Please donate to our 501 (c)(3) Fort Myers Kiwanis Foundation to help with this wonderful project. Any donation, from $5.00 to $5,000, will make a difference. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. Donors will receive a tax donation receipt from the Fort Myers Kiwanis Foundation
